Your Contact Form Is Costing You Leads. Here’s Why.

You spent money getting visitors to the site. The contact form is where most of them quietly give up.

Getting someone to your website is the expensive part. Asking them to fill in eleven fields, including their company VAT number, is how you waste it. The form is the handshake — and most are far too stiff.

Ask for less

Every field you add lowers the number of people who finish. Name, contact, and a short message is usually enough to start a conversation. You can ask the rest once they’ve replied.

Tell them what happens next

“We’ll reply within one working day” removes the fear of shouting into the void. Silence after submitting is the fastest way to lose trust you’d already earned.

Make it work on a phone

Most local enquiries happen on mobile, often in the evening. If your form is fiddly on a small screen, you’re losing your warmest leads at the final step.

Give an alternative

  • A tap-to-call button for people who’d rather talk
  • A direct email address for the cautious
  • A WhatsApp option if it suits your audience

A form isn’t a formality. It’s the moment intent becomes income — or doesn’t.
